My selections for this e-portfolio were made based on the impact they had on my understanding of equitable teaching strategies and models throughout the semester. All of these projects helped me build a life-long toolbox that I will carry with me throughout my teaching journey to help change the way we look at education and how we can shape our students into influential individuals.

Auto-Ethnography -This assignment was an enlightening experience and brought attention to the importance of self-reflection and regulation. By taking a look at my own life experiences that have shaped how I perceive the world around me, I felt like I was capable of connecting and empathizing with every other human being on the planet. I want to work to reach every student no matter their circumstances. This revelation I believe encompasses the mission of education at USC and their fight to create opportunities in the most forgotten places.

Comparative Analysis - Both films used to compose this comparative analysis were incredibly helpful and insightful to the world of teaching. Knowing that I am a "learn by example"  kind of student I was able to recognize the behaviors and mistakes made throughout The Class. These mistakes were drastically contrasted to those socially and culturally responsive methods that mirrored all of the texts and group discussions that took place over this first semester. I feel this visual representation of the coursework was the most influential to how I will creatively approach my assessments as an educator.

GI Model -This model was incredible in helping me to understand the steps involved in creating a cohesive lesson plan. Most importantly, it reminded me that to be an effective teacher I will have to be able to adapt quickly and on the fly. I cannot control the direction the students' interest in learning sways, but by understanding who my class is will help me meet them where they are at.

GRR Model -I chose to include this model of teaching because this was the first time I felt a creative spark in planning around learning a skill while also making the material culturally relevant and hopefully inspiring to my students. One thing I took away from this semester that had never occurred to me before was the relationship between learning, creativity, and fun!

SS Model -I included the Socratic Seminar because this became a personal favorite after completing this lesson plan. Once again, I realized the influence I can have as an educator in leading my students in the exploration of analytical thinking and diplomatic discussions with different perspectives. I realized by creating an environment to use these skills, I can and will make the core of each lesson part of a greater message my students can carry beyond the classroom.
