My name is Jessica Chavez, and I am a first generation graduate from USC's Rossier School of Education. I am currently working on my bilingual certification and have my teaching credential in Secondary English, working full-time as a Middle School Educator at LAUSD. I currently live in Los Angeles where I plan on continuing to pursue my Ph.D. online at USC in the future. My hope for this future as an educator is to prepare students with a sense of community, autonomy, confidence, and creativity that will support them where ever their future takes them with open hearts and open minds.
